Wake Up, Parents – Our Children Need Us Now More Than Ever
Share
Look around. We are living in a time where children are being pulled in every direction by the world. Their values, their identities, their minds—all being shaped not by God's Word, but by media, culture, and peer pressure. As heartbreaking as it is to watch, we as parents must ask: what are we doing about it?
The truth is, the enemy is not resting. He is actively working to distract, deceive, and destroy the next generation. And if we are not diligent in our parenting—if we are not intentional, consistent, and Christ-centered—our children will become easy targets.
We Are Stewards, Not Babysitters
God didn’t randomly assign your children to you. He entrusted them to you. You are their shepherd, their guide, their spiritual covering. Your role is not just to feed them and get them to bed. Your role is to train them, disciple them, correct them, and raise them in the truth of God's Word.
Proverbs 22:6 says, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it."
Training requires effort. It means calling out bad behavior, not brushing it off. It means modeling Christ even when we’re tired. It means praying for our children daily and leading them with love and firmness.
If We Don't Teach Them, the World Will
If we aren’t discipling our children, the world will do it for us. And trust me—it won’t be teaching them about Jesus. From school curriculums to social media, the enemy is working overtime to pull children away from the truth.
1 Peter 5:8 reminds us: "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."
We can’t afford to be passive. The devil is serious about destroying your child’s future. Are you serious about protecting it?
Stop Chasing the World – Chase Jesus
We are often so busy chasing careers, fame, likes, and money—and we’re forgetting to chase Jesus. We can’t expect our children to seek God's Kingdom if we are not doing it ourselves.
Matthew 6:33 says, "But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."
Mama, it's time to realign. God is not asking for perfection, but He is asking for priority.
Their Future Is In Your Hands
The children of today are the leaders of tomorrow. The way we raise them shapes the world we live in. If we want to see a change in the next generation, we must start in our homes.
Deuteronomy 6:6-7 says, "These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up."
This is not a suggestion—it’s a calling.
Final Thoughts
This message is not one of condemnation, but of love and urgency. You don’t need to have all the answers. But you do need to be present. Be prayerful. Be willing to correct. Be willing to change. With Christ, you have everything you need to raise your children well.
Let's stop waiting. Let’s wake up. Our children need us. Now more than ever.
Love,
Zarryah
